2nd Ball Breaks Tie- This style uses the One Low scoring method, but in the event of a tie on a hole, the unused score for each team is compared to determine the final results for that hole.

 

Aggregate- The sum of each teams scores on each hole represents that teams score.

 

Closeout- This game has one segment.  18-hole match play bet.

 

GHIN#- Golf Handicap and Information Network ID Number

 

Front, Back, Overall- A traditional Nassau match.  This game has a value for three segments.

                                  1) Front nine only match play

                                  2) Back nine only match play

                                  3) 18-hole match play

 

High Low- Two comparisons are made each hole.  Each comparison is worth one point per hole.

                1) The lowest score from each team on each hole

                2) The highest score from each team on each hole

 

Hole Sweep Option- This is a point game option which awards a player all points on a given hole where he scores greater than or equal to 2 strokes lower than the other participants.

 

Index- Players handicap index calculated from GHIN or similar handicap system

 

Off Lowest Player- This handicap application method plays the lowest handicapped player in the group as a zero (scratch) handicapper.  The other players in the group will be assigned a handicap equal to the difference of their handicap minus the lowest players handicap.  Example:  Johnny has a 3 handicap and Tommy has a 6 handicap.  With lowest player method applied, Johnny will play to a 0 and Tommy will play as a 3 handicap.

 

Off Scorecard- This handicap application method uses the scorecard to apply all handicaps.  Example:  Johnny has a +2 handicap and Tommy has a 5 handicap.  With the off scorecard method applied, Johnny will add one shot to his score on the 18th handicap and 17th handicap holes.  Tommy will subtract one shot to his score on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th handicap holes.

 

One Low- The lowest one score from each team on each hole represents that teams score.

 

Press- The act of adding a new bet.

 

Slope- The difficulty of a course and tee rated by GHIN

 

Tee- Name or Color of starting markers on teeing grounds

 

Yards- Length of course from selected tee
