When I launch the Golf Scoring Buddy, it briefly brings up the title screen and then takes me back to my iPhone/iTouch desktop; it won't launch?
Unfortunately, there are times that your device might be unstable during data creation and storage. This can lead to a corrupt database which will not allow the device to relaunch the Golf Scoring Buddy Application. If this happens, you can reinstall the application to fix the data structure. Unfortunately, you will lose any player and course info that you have created. See the How to Reinstall Program link on our webpage to learn how to reinstall your program.
Why can't I get this golf course to delete?
If there is a previous round that was played on the golf course that you want to delete, the course is unable to be deleted until that round is deleted first. So, from the home screen select "Rounds", then select "Edit", then select the round that was played on that golf course and choose the "Delete" option. After deleting the rounds associated with that golf course, you should be able to delete the course without error.
Is there a way to tab from one text box to the next when entering hole information on a new course?
The quickest way to enter hole information to a new course is by entering two digits for every hole handicap. After two digits have been entered in the Hcp. field, it will automatically tab you to the next hole's Par field. Example, enter the number 1 handicap hole as "01" instead of "1".
I have set up several games to play, but on one of the games I only want to give John 2 shots a side instead of the 3 a side that our handicap difference ask us to give. Can that be done?
Certainly, one of the features that was a "must have" when developing this program was to be able to totally customize handicaps on a per match and per game basis. The match between you and John may be changed to 2 a side by reducing his handicap by 2 stokes on the setup screen of whatever match or game you desire.
Can this program calculate a player who has a handicap that is better than par?
Yes. We call that golfer a "plus handicapper". When entering his handicap or handicap index, you would press the "plus" button on the custom number pad before entering his handicap amount.
Our club has shotgun starts regularly on the weekends. Can I still use this application?
Yes. When you select which course you are about to play, the "Select Tee" screen asks you to input what hole you are going to "Start On". If you are going to start on hole 15, change the "1" to a "15". This will make your front side holes 15 thru 5, and your back side holes 6 thru 14.
Do I need an iPhone to use this app?
No. This application will run on both the iPhone and iTouch devices.
