Closeout
Overview
Closeout is a game for 2 or 4 players. It is played by selecting the "Closeout" option from the Nassau Type option. The game is similar to the overall segment in the Nassau game. It is scored match play over the entire round. The player/team that has the most points at the end of the round wins the match. The scoring format is match play, where each hole will count as one or two points.
Individual Scoring
In Individual Closeout, the player with the lowest score for a hole wins that hole. If each individual makes the same score on a hole, no points would be awarded for that hole. The individual that wins the most holes in the round wins that match.
Team Scoring
Team Closeout can be scored with four different options.
1) One Low- The lowest one score between the two partners represents the score for each hole. It is compared to the lowest score of the two competitors score per hole. Each hole carries a value of one point.
2) Aggregate- The sum of both partners score represents the score for each hole. It is compare to the sum of the two competitors score per hole. Each hole carries a value of one point.
3) Hi-Lo- On each hole, the lowest score from one team is compared to the lowest score of the competitors team (same as One Low). On the same hole, the highest score from one team is compared to the highest score of the competitor’s team. Each hole carries a value of 2 points. If your low score is lower than your competitors low score, and your high score is lower than your competitors high score; you win two points. If your low score is equal to your competitor’s low score, and your high score is lower than your competitors high score, you win one point. Etc……..
4) 2nd Ball Breaks Tie- The lowest one score between the two partners represents the score for each hole. It is compared to the lowest score of the two competitors score per hole. But, in the event that your lowest score equals your competitors lowest score, the second score from each team is compared to break the tie. If the second scores are equal, the result for the hole is a tie. Each hole carries a value of one point.
Presses
A press may be initiated and accepted at any time by either individual/team. A press is an additional segment that is separate from the original. The press segment begins scoring on the hole immediately following its acceptance. The press terminates at the end of the round.
